S3D PRODUCTION IN THEORY AND PRACTICE
May 30- June 3, 2011

Throughout the course, several professionals will take turns giving talks, keynotes and demonstrations, in order to present the theoretical and practical concepts that are essential to managing an S3D production.
The course entitled 3D Production in Theory and Practice is aimed at all those who wish to learn about S3D, or to reinforce their knowledge. In addition to theoretical courses, demonstrations as well as filming and editing tests will be offered by professionals.

Trainees who complete this course will be able to supervise the filming and post-production of an S3D project.

The course is given in English, and requires basic knowledge of video or cinema production.


Pedagogical goals

   
Learning what resources are required to integrate S3D into a film project
Budgeting for S3D
Coaching a stereographer through all stages of production and post-production
Supervise filming and post-production of an S3D project
Create masters that meet broadcasters' expectations
Show S3D contents through physical media and the internet

Networking
Each day will conclude with a dinner, a networking event, a S3D screening.

WORKSHOP/ DIRECTING A FILM IN S3D
November 28 - December 9, 2011

Producing an S3D short film over 2 weeks: filming, editing, post-production and mastering of a 15-shot film.

A standard scenario is offered to the participants, grouped in teams of 5. Each trainee directs 3 shots. Participants are in charge of all technical processes necessary to the film’s production.

The course is given in English, and requires basic knowledge of video or cinema production, as well as some experience with S3D.


Pedagogical goals
   
Offer, through a 15-shot film, a pluridisciplinary approach to S3D storytelling (the teams will consider the diversity of technical and creative choices).
Provide participats with the basic knowledge required for constructive exchanges with an S3D consultant throughout all stages of a filming project.
Building a valuable network of contacts with professionals in the S3D industry (teachers, partners and S3D Campus trainees)


Networking
Most of days will conclude with a dinner, a networking event, a S3D screening.
